Every day until 23.00 the cloakroom in the entrance of Soju Bar, a club in Kreuzberg (Berlin), turns into Angry Chicken.

Angry Chicken is a small Korean shop, dark but with neon lights, which sells fried chicken and potatoes, prepared following Korean recipes.

Its founder Young Mi Park tells us how Kimchi Princess, the Korean restaurant behind the corner, was first born, followed by Bar and ANGRY.

How did you start your project in Berlin?

I started in 2005 with a small spontaneous Korean catering at Berlin Design Market. Four years later, together with two partners (Hyun Wanner and Jan Vogel) we decided to open Kimchi Princess. Now I run this project with Hyun and Andrea Volpato.
After just one year also SOJU BAR and ANGRY CHICKEN were born.

Who created ANGRY CHICKEN’s fluo graphic and its architectural design?

- YOUNG MI: Paul Snowden is the great graphic designer of our whole project, he’s my husband ;) Felix Pahnke is our interior designer.

What are your special dishes at ANGRY CHICKEN?

SO SO ANGRY CHICKEN (extra hot
ANGRY CHICKEN (Cinnamon and Paprika)
FURIOUS CHICKEN (super hot)
SEXY CHICKEN (Soja and garlic)
and
(the traditional) FRIENDLY CHICKEN

Why in Berlin?
Korean fried chicken can be found in the streets of all the big cities such as New York, Los Angeles or Seoul. This is why we thought that Berlin could not miss a place like this.
