In 1896 the father of Modernism, Louis Sullivan, working on the design of modern skyscrapers, summarizes his aesthetic credo with a phrase that marked an era “form ever follows function“, the universal law governing every object or creation, without exceptions.
The bases of Functionalism apply even to a pospsicle. With its manifesto “Form follows Taste”, NUNA is a design popsicle which astonishes when you see it for the first time: is it ice? a mathematical model? an ice architecture?
Created by Neubau Berlin agency, Nuna comes from the idea of realizing something totally original in the industrial ice-cream market. We asked them how:
“Nuna is reinventing the ice cream market because it will found a totally new product category within this market.
This is a very exciting aspect of the product story and I will voluntarily tell you more when we are ready to launch.
The revolution is the Nuna system itself – it’s origin lays in the birth of ice cream, originates in the best and purest taste,
finally brought to perfection with the resulting consequent design.
You can really say ‘Form follows Taste’ for Nuna – when experiencing and tasting the unique pyramid surface of the popsicle
that arises from the ice crystal shape. It’s a sensational tasteful mouth-feeling!”
We can’t wait to taste it.
