Renate is a designer from the Royal Art Academy in the Netherlands, she exhibits her concluded project just before the departure for the Milano Design Week, a few days ago.
Like a warm blanket, she decided to warm up as a knitting dress all the elements of what she called Forster Family (ed. To be nourished or trained up together). A search for orphan cups, two teapots and a porcelain sugar bowl: they were all found in many different charity shops, chosen to create a new family with a new skin, the comfortable coloured shirt with the same colour leaves individuality.
Renate is 26, she created this project for her graduation thesis at the Royal Art Academy. She loves “old things” and charity shops, she tries to communicate, through the contrast of materials but not of semantics, the sustainable but sentimental value of the unused products. Her website is Studio Wonderland.
